Michael J. Myers was born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati. After graduating from Elder High School in 2002, Mike studied Fire Service Technology at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, where he became a certified Firefighter/EMT by the state of Ohio. Mike began working as a Firefighter/EMT for Green Township Fire & EMS in August of 2003. He continued his medical training and became a certified Paramedic in June of 2007. Mike served the citizens of Green Township in this capacity for nearly 14 years until he resigned in May of 2017.
Mike attended the University of Cincinnati to obtain his undergraduate degree. In 2013, he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He attended Law School at the University of Dayton School of Law on an academic scholarship. While attending UDSL, Mike was an active participant on both the Ohio Attorney General Mock Trial Team and the University of Dayton School of Law National Mock Trial Team. During his second year of law school, Mike had the honor to serve as a law clerk for the Honorable Steven K. Dankof of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. As a clerk for Judge Dankof, Mike received invaluable real world legal experiences from nearly every area of the law. He was also able to hone his writing and research skills while assisting Judge Dankof with his opinions. Mike was able to complete his Juris Doctorate six months earlier than expected, graduating from UDSL in January of 2017.
Mike began working as a law clerk for Clements, Taylor, Butkovich & Cohen LPA Co. in the summer of 2016. It is here that he was first exposed to Ohio Workers’ Compensation law. He quickly came to understand the challenges injured workers face, and has since dedicated himself to understanding the complexities of the system. Mike successfully passed the February, 2017 Ohio Bar Exam and was admitted to practice in May, 2017. He was hired as an associate attorney at Clements, Taylor, Butkovich & Cohen LPA Co. soon thereafter. Although new to the practice of law, Mike brings with him a multitude of real world and academic experience which serves his clients well. In addition, his passion and enthusiasm to fight for injured workers’ rights is unmatched. Today, Mike dedicates his practice to representing injured workers, along with various other civil litigants, in front of the Industrial Commission of Ohio and the Court of Common Pleas. He currently resides on the west side of Cincinnati with his wife and son.
