In Virginia, a woman was recently hospitalized after being bit by a copperhead snake at her place of work. After three days of hospitalization, multiple doses of antivenom, and now physical therapy, she received the news that her workers comp claim was denied.
Unfortunately, these types of situations are all too common. Work accident claims are expensive and the reality is that adjusters will do everything they can to reduce or reject claims that could very well be valid.
If you’ve received a workers compensation rejection, it’s important to know that this decision may not be final nor lawful. Many injured workers have been forced to bear the burden of high medical fees after their claim was rejected. However, if they sought the advice of a workers comp attorney, the outcome may have been different.
Remember, if you’ve been injured at work, you have both the right to seek both legal help and financial reimbursement for your accident.
