In July 2017, the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation decided that, despite several recent cuts to employer insurance premiums, a $1 billion rebate was also necessary. The idea behind the $1 billion rebate was that employers would use this money to invest in themselves and that the economy would be the major benefactor.
However, it would seem that numerous employers throughout Ohio are doing so well that they haven’t even bothered to cash the Bureau’s recently issued rebate checks. According to the Bureau, $10 million in rebate money remains unclaimed. In fact, one particular employer has not cashed a check worth over $200,000.
In the meantime, while numerous employers are too well-off to bother to cash their rebate checks, injured workers continue to see their rights and benefits diminish at a steady rate. Learn more about the latest employer rebate.
Let your state representative know how you feel about employers receiving rebates and premium cuts while the rights of injured workers fade.
