New legislation known as Ohio Senate Bill 5 could change the way workers’ comp law in Cincinnati and other cities work for first responders. In the bill, post-traumatic stress disorder will be a covered issue in workmen’s comp for first responders including policemen and firefighters. Under current laws, mental issues are only covered if they are as a result of an injury sustained on the job.
This is exciting news and a step in the right direction for first responders suffering from work-related stress.
