The family of Annie Le was awarded $3 million this month as the wrongful death lawsuit they filed against Yale University has come to an end.
Annie Le, a student at the Yale School of Medicine, went missing on September 8th, 2009 after last being seen in the universities research building. Her body was found five days later.
Raymond J. Clark III, a laboratory technician working at the building, was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to 44 years in prison.
The lawsuit alleged that Yale did not take appropriate action after numerous reports of sexual attacks on women at the University. It goes on to state that Yale neglected to investigate the report of Annie Le missing and that the University was aware that Clark demonstrated violent behavior towards women previously.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Le family and others who have wrongfully lost a loved one.
