David Moradi, a resident of New York, recently settled a lawsuit for a brain injury in the amount of $160,500,000. Moradi was forcefully pushed to the ground by security guards after an incident at a Las Vegas casino.
The lawsuit alleges that he sustained a traumatic brain injury after the fall and that he was unable to continue operating his business as a hedge fund manager.
Moradi had his traumatic brain injury diagnosed by a neurosurgeon, which helped prove his claim in court.
The Importance of Establishing a Medical Record in Injury Lawsuits
In the simplest terms, medical records are considered legal proof that you’ve been injured. One of the most damaging things you can do to an injury claim is to not seek medical attention after the injury.
If you’ve been hurt in an accident, you should seek medical attention immediately – preferably the same day you’re injured. This helps establish a medical record that proves the severity of your injury. And don’t stop there! Make sure that you continue to seek treatment and don’t allow for large gaps in appointments. If you end up going to court, having medical proof of your injuries can help strengthen your case and significantly increase your total injury settlement.
