Injured on Someone Else’s Property? Compensation Is Possible.
Every year, tens of thousands of people are injured when they slip and fall. If you’re thinking of filing a negligence claim against a property owner, it’s important to keep a few things in mind. Accidents do happen, and if fault is found to be your own, you may be held liable to pay for the property owner’s legal expenses.
In order for fault to be determined, the property owner typically would have needed to cause the spill or contributed to the dangerous surface in some way. A property owner neglecting to resolve a known hazard could also result in liability.
When it comes to slip and fall injuries, there are many factors involved in determining who’s at fault. In these types of situations, it’s often best to consult with an attorney who can help identify if you have a strong case.
